On Friday, Mar. 6th, the crew met the cast as we settled down for a table read! Though a few members were unable to make it, work was certainly completed as we figured our way through the script. Filming is set to begin the week of Spring Break.

Though the week did not go as planned due to the unfortunate weather, we managed to film a scene that took place inside. Here are a few stills from that afternoon!

One Of These Nights - A Tale of American Gun Violence

Production has officially started!

March 6, 2015

Sitting (from bottom left, clockwise):

John Korda, Topher Vent, J.C. Scott, and Mikel Moon.

"One Of These Nights" is our most ambitious project yet. Projected to last over 30-minutes, this dark tale follows a man who still lives in the Western cowboy films he saw as a child. He grows more distant from his brother with every day that he skips out on work. However, it is when our protagonist meets a girl that he can connect to that the fantasy he lives clashes with the reality of life.

Though we are still deep in production, the film is expected to be released by November of 2015!

Day 1 - A Success!

(Top and Bottom): the equipment we used consisted of our new Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera with a 51-year old P. Angenieux lens! We also used standard lights and mount equipment.

(Right): how do you block the light entering through the glass on a door? Simple - a dark blanket + gaff tape!

Day 2 - The Long, Hard Day

Day 2 was no easy day! Though limited to a skeleton crew, we had to make the most of our opportunity for such a fine day to shoot -- and we certainly did! Starting at 7AM, our day did not end until after-dark, at 9PM.

Though there were a few "hiccups" in preparing the scenes, we ended up shooting more footage than we originally planned for, even filming a scene which was originally not present within in the script!

(Right): John had to be both the sound operator as well as the camera man for a tracking shot!
